Cuba Postcard Set
What is happening in Cuba is heartbreaking. For decades, the island has faced immense economic pressure under the U.S. embargo, and in recent years the situation has become increasingly severe. Many Cubans are struggling to meet their most basic needs, while shortages of food, medicine, fuel, and essential goods continue to affect daily life.
One of the most critical challenges the country is currently facing is its ongoing energy crisis. Aging infrastructure, fuel shortages, and limited resources have led to frequent and prolonged power outages across the island. These blackouts impact every aspect of life: hospitals and schools struggle to operate, businesses are forced to close temporarily, food spoils without refrigeration, and families are left without reliable access to electricity for hours or even days at a time.
Recently, I learned about a project that is helping communities in Cuba expand access to solar energy. I decided to start a small fundraising campaign to support their efforts.
To raise funds, I have printed five photographs that I took in Cuba between 2016 and 2018 as a set of postcards. The set is available for €10. I will keep €1 to cover some of the costs, and donate the remaining €9 to Inter Red, an organization supporting solar energy initiatives in Cuba.
